W. Kowloon Cultural District heli shoot

February saw a run of blue skies and clear weather so we took the opportunity to book the Heliservices MD902 helicopter and shoot our annual stills and video of the West Kowloon Cultural District construction progress. The Ronin-S stabiliser was tested out on a 15 minute recce flight beforehand and held up well against winds from travelling at up to 80 knots with the helicopter’s doors open, so we decided to use it for the first time on this aerial shoot. It was 10 degrees C on the ground so we took warm clothes as it gets even colder at an altitude of 1,400 feet and 80knots windspeed with the doors open on the helicopter. Our 75 minute flight provided multiple altitudes and distances from the peninsula to be shot giving us a wide variety of angles.
